Course Description

Computer security in the context of the Internet, including hands-on exercises and experiments in the areas of authentication, attacks and threats, email and communication, digital signatures and encryption, mobile devices, privacy, safe browsing and certificates.

Course Grading

The course grade will be based on a set of project assignments. Course assignments are to be done individually and independently. The University policy and procedures on academic integrity and students with disabilities will be followed.

Topics

The US-CERT cybersecurity tips will be used as a framework for the course. The tips are for non-technical computer users, however the course will be oriented for technical computer users, providing in-depth coverage and hands-on experience.
