* Note: your lecture recordings will utilize the classroom’s built-in camera, ceiling/podium microphones, and presentation capture hardware. Faculty do not need to start/stop anything for the recording to take place.

IMPORTANT:

• Classroom lecture recordings are retained for one (1) year and one (1) semester before being permanently deleted per the Villanova University Data Purging and Record Retention policy (details here). Faculty who wish to save copies of their lectures before automatic deletion may follow the simple instructions here. Please Note: Mediasite Mosaic recordings and media uploads are not included in data purges.
• All classroom recordings upload to Mediasite as “Private” by default; videos marked as “Private” will not appear on the Course Channel. If you prefer that your recordings be made automatically “Viewable” to your students via the Course Channel after class concludes, please email a UNIT Multimedia Technology staff member listed below.
• Faculty in a Universal Lecture Capture Classroom can opt-out of having any or all their lectures recorded by submitting an Opt-Out Form. The course will be removed from the recording schedule within two (2) business days after the request is received. Faculty will need to submit a Classroom and Event Recording Request Form to record a lecture/series of lectures for a course that has opted out of Universal Lecture Capture.
